Too much work for Dirk?

NBA: If the Mavericks want to even things up with the Heat at two games apiece, they'll need to get a much bigger effort from their supporting cast. Dirk Nowitzki has put the team on his back, scoring 34 points in Game 3 while the rest of the team shot just 34.7 percent from the field. It's clear Nowitzki can't do it alone. Miami can take a commanding 3-1 lead with a second straight victory on the Mavs' home court tonight and set up a possible title-clinching win Thursday. (8 p.m., ABC).

MLB: The Indians look to halt their seven-game home losing skid when they face the white hot Twins tonight at Progressive. Minnesota has beaten Cleveland eight straight times, outscoring its division rivals 47-20 in that span. Francisco Liriano will take the hill for the Twins, winners of five straight, while Carlos Carrasco will try to stop the bleeding for the Indians (7:05 p.m.).

The Red Sox and the Yankees open up a three-game set in the Bronx tonight, with Jon Lester on the bump opposite Freddy Garcia. New York has won 13-of-18 to take a one-game lead over Boston in the AL East (7:05 p.m.).

The Pirates vie for their fourth straight win tonight when they host the Diamondbacks, who are riding a six-game road win streak. Eight-game winner Kevin Correia will try to take sole possession of the league lead for victories when he lines up opposite Arizona's Daniel Hudson (7:05 p.m.).

The Tigers and the Rangers continue a three-game set in the Lone Star State tonight, with Detroit looking to add to its major league-leading 14 homers in the month of June. The Tigers have won three straight and eight of their last night games (8:05 p.m.).

The White Sox have won nine in a row and 13 of 14 against the Mariners; they'll try to continue their winning ways tonight in the second of a three-game set at the Cell. Felix Hernandez was on the mound for Seattle's only win over Chicago since the start of the 2008 season, way back in April of 2009. He'll try to get his team another rare win tonight (8:10 p.m.).
