It's always sunny for Brandi Chastain

In the Pro's Questionnaire, our favorite sports figures take our abridged version of the most famous personality test, the Proust Questionnaire. Soccer legend Brandi Chastain is on deck. The Olympic and World Cup champion talks about her love for her son, missing her U.S. teammates and trying to add sunshine to every day.

Your main fault:
Brandi Chastain: I'm too emotional.

Your idea of happiness:
BC: Oh boy. Love and ice cream.

Your idea of misery:
BC: Not being able to play every day. Whatever it is, anything. I'm doing lunges while we talk.

If not yourself, who would you want to be?
BC: My mother. She was awesome.

Your favorite food/drink:
BC: I pretty much eat anything. Wow. I will have to say I'm a seafood lover. With a Thai twist. Spicy. Favorite drink? Hot water.

Hero/heroine you admire most:
BC: My mom. She was a vice president of a company before women were at that level. She taught me just because someone says no, that yes is around the corner. And you have to go after the solution and not worry about anyone else's problem.

What you hate most:
BC: I don't live in that space so much. But I hate that I don't get to see my teammates like Julie [Foudy] and Mia [Hamm] and Tiffeny [Milbrett] and Kristine [Lilly] and Carla [Overbeck]. I don't get to see them as much as I'd like to because our country is so big. We spent so much important time together. I hate that I don't get to see them on a more regular basis.

The natural talent you'd like to be gifted with:
BC: Singing! I sing to my 5-year-old [son Jaden] and he loves when I do it, but I think it's got to be like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Your greatest fear:
BC: Now that I'm a mom, thinking about watching my son grow up and become a man and being a father. I just want to live forever and watch him become the person he's going to become.

Your greatest extravagance:
BC: Spending time with my son. Probably to the detriment of many other things.

Your most treasured possession:
BC: Can he [my son] be considered a possession? I would say my son and my family.

Your present state of mind:
BC: It's rainy outside and I'm going to add a little joy to this day by going for a run. You need to add a little sunshine to every day.
